Seven days allows a proper circuit of the east and south of Rajasthan, with long enough in each city to see the highlights. This plan runs from Jaipur through Pushkar and Jodhpur to Udaipur, with a stop at Ranakpur. It leaves out Jaisalmer, which needs two more days.

Who it suits: travellers who enjoy road journeys, families with older children and groups of friends. Pace: two long drive days (Days 3 and 4) and four sightseeing days. Seasonal tweaks: from October to March the plan is as written. In the monsoon, drop Jaipur's hilltop forts if it rains heavily and add Kumbhalgarh. During the Pushkar Camel Fair in November, book early and give Pushkar a night.

Making it easier. Start sightseeing early and plan rest in the afternoons. If you dislike long drives, take a train from Jaipur to Jodhpur, or fly Udaipur to Delhi at the end. Ask us about vehicles with enough space for luggage, since you will be in the car for several days.

What the days have in common. Each morning begins with the main sight while the light is soft and the heat is low, and each afternoon leaves room to rest or shop. The two long drive days are placed back to back, so the rest of the week is relaxed. This is the route of our Royal Rajasthan circuit, shortened. For a slower pace, ask us to remove a day.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many days do I need for Rajasthan?

Six to eight days covers a classic circuit such as Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur without rushing. A four-day trip works for Jaipur plus one more city. Adding Jaisalmer, Pushkar or Ranthambore needs nine or ten days, because road legs are long and each place deserves at least a night.

Are heritage hotels worth the money?

For one or two nights, often yes. A good palace or haveli stay adds atmosphere, courtyards and food you remember. Quality varies, so check the room category, recent photos, location and whether the property is a working hotel or mainly a museum. We name the category in every quote so you can compare.

When is the Pushkar Camel Fair?

It is held in the Hindu month of Kartik, usually in November. In 2026 the fair was expected to run from about 17 to 24 November, with the holy bathing peak on Kartik Purnima. Exact dates are announced locally each year, so confirm before you book, and book hotels months ahead because the town fills up.
