Route: Port Blair - Havelock - Neil - Port Blair

Places covered: Port Blair, Havelock, Radhanagar Beach, Elephant Beach, Neil Island

This plan is built for couples. It uses three islands, but spends most of the time on Havelock and Neil, where the beaches and the water are. It keeps hotel changes and ferry hops to a minimum and leaves time for the two of you.

Who it suits

Honeymooners, anniversary trips and couples who want a mix of beach, water and quiet. It works best from November to April. In October and May, we suggest flexibility. It is not recommended in the monsoon.

How the days flow

You arrive in Port Blair and spend a short first evening there, with the Cellular Jail if you like. On day two, a morning ferry takes you to Havelock, where you settle into your resort and enjoy Radhanagar Beach at sunset. Day three is for Elephant Beach, snorkelling or a first dive, and a free afternoon. Day four moves you to Neil for the calm reef and sunset. Day five brings you back to Port Blair, and day six is departure.

What makes it romantic

  • A beachfront or forest resort on Havelock, chosen for privacy and comfort.
  • Sunset at Radhanagar Beach, with space to walk and sit.
  • Easy snorkelling or a glass-bottom boat ride in clear water.
  • A quiet night on Neil, away from crowds.
  • Optional extras: a beach dinner, a couples' massage, a photographer or room decoration.

Honest notes

Ferry timings shape your day: if you take a morning ferry, you arrive at midday, and it takes a while to get to the resort. We choose the best sailings. Resorts on the islands are simpler than mainland hotels. If you dive, plan it early so that you do not fly within 24 hours. Weather can change plans, and we always keep a flexible approach.

What makes it romantic, in practice

It is mostly small things: a table on the sand with the sea behind it, an unhurried snorkel, a long walk on an empty beach and a resort where nobody rushes you. We avoid putting more than one major activity on any day, and we place the ferry hops at the start of the trip, not the end.

Customising

Add a night on Havelock, add a scuba day, upgrade to a luxury resort or replace Neil with a second night on Havelock. Tell us your dates and the mood you want, and we will adapt the plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Andaman a good honeymoon destination?

Yes, it is one of the most popular. Radhanagar Beach at sunset, snorkelling off Neil and a quiet resort stay make a romantic trip. Choose resorts with sea access, keep days relaxed and plan ferry timings carefully, because the transfers can eat into leisure time.

How do ferries between the islands work?

Private high-speed ferries and government ferries link Port Blair, Havelock and Neil, with crossings of roughly one to two and a half hours. Tickets are booked in advance, schedules change with the season and weather, and sailings are cancelled in rough seas. We suggest a buffer of at least half a day before any flight home.

Can beginners try scuba diving in the Andamans?

Yes. Introductory dives need no certification, only basic fitness, a medical declaration and a short briefing. Choose a certified, insured operator with trained instructors. Do not fly within 18 to 24 hours of diving, and tell the instructor about any health conditions, including colds and asthma.

What is the best time to visit the Andaman Islands?

November to April is the main season, with calm seas, clear water and good visibility for snorkelling and diving. October and May are shoulder months with fewer crowds. June to September is the monsoon, when ferries are disrupted and many water activities are suspended. Cyclone risk is higher around April to May and October to December, so keep flexibility.
